DAWSON CREEK -- Sources close to the family of a woman missing from Dawson Creek since December confirm remains belonging to Renee Didier were discovered Saturday.
Sources tell CJDC TV News Didier’s body was discovered in the Kiskatinaw River west of Highway 97, by an industrial worker who was testing river water.
Dawson Creek RCMP are not commenting on the matter because the file has been taken over by the North District Major Crime Unit.
Police are remaining tight lipped about the discovery. Sources close to the family tell CJDC TV that investigators have spoken with Didier’s father.
CJDC TV News has learned how Didier's remains were identified however we are not reporting the method of identification at this time..
Didier went missing in early December. Footage taken from a security camera showed Didier at a gas station in the early morning hours of December 3rd.
The images of Didier, who sometimes goes by the last name Supernant, were the last time she was seen before going missing.
The 40 year old Didier is one of four people to have gone missing from Dawson Creek in the last 15 months. Police are still searching for Darylyn Supernant, Cole Hosack and Dave Domingo.
No information is expected to be released by police including the name of the victim, until forensic analysis has been completed.
