DAWSON CREEK -- A combined search is being organized this weekend in Dawson Creek in an effort to find three missing people.

The family of Cole Hosack will be conducting an escalated search to find the missing 24-year-old after he disappeared from Dawson Creek on New Year’s Eve.

In an appeal to the community, Cole’s mother Julie Hosack is asking for help as she leads the search.

“We’ve kind of joined forces with Renee and Darylyn’s families to increase the footprint that we can cover, said Julie.

Renee Didier and Darylyn Supernant are both Indigenous women who went missing from Dawson Creek last year and have not been seen since.

The 40-year-old Didier was last seen on video at a gas station on December 3, 2023.

She is described as 5”10, with brown hair and eyes.

The 29-year-old Supernant went missing in March of 2023.

She is described as 5’4 with black hair and brown eyes.

Hosack says Renee’s dad reached out to her on Facebook, and welcomes the idea of helping each other in finding their missing children.

Dawson Creek RCMP say an active investigation is currently underway for all three missing persons.

The search will be based out of the Staybridge Suites located at 1324 Alaska Avenue, beginning at 10:00 am this Saturday and Sunday.

The search will span the area of Highway 49 to the 8th Street traffic circle, up Alaska Avenue and move east.

Julie adds that maps and refreshments will be provided to volunteers aiding in the search.

Julie is urging residents living on or near Highway 49 to check their yards and outbuildings.

“We don't know where he could possibly be and we just would love if you were able to just check that and cross it off our list,” said Hosack.

Cole was seen wearing dark green pants, a green t-shirt, and black Boston Rex Sox hat with a “B” symbol on the cap.

“Most people say that if they were going through this situation they’d like the same effort for their loved ones,” said Julie.
