The 2026 B.C. Summer Games have wrapped up, with athletes from Northeast B.C. bringing home several medals and standout performances for the Cariboo-North East Zone.
Among the top results from the region, Rowan Clarke of Charlie Lake, captured gold in the female 1500-metre race walk event with a winning time of 7:48.02.
Another gold medal came in the pool, where Leonardo Rossi of Charlie Lake claimed the top spot in the men’s 200-metre freestyle.
Rossi finished with a time of 2:04.95, adding to the Cariboo-North East zone’s medal count in swimming competition.
In athletics, Kaleb Stevens-Fleming of Fort St. John secured a silver medal in the boys high jump, clearing 1.80 metres to earn a place on the podium.
Rounding out the medal winners was Diego Lascari of Fort St. John, who earned bronze in the boys shot put with a throw of 12.48 metres.

The B.C. Summer Games bring together young athletes from across the province to compete in a wide variety of sports while showcasing the next generation of talent.
While the 2026 Games have come to a close, attention will soon turn to the next edition of the event.
The B.C. Summer Games are scheduled to return in 2028 in Penticton, a milestone year that will mark the game’s 50th anniversary.
