CJDC TV News has learned that one of B.C’s most notorious gangsters has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Fort Nelson.

Sources tell CJDC that Jarrod Bacon was taken into police custody Friday, after a man was shot in the parking lot of the Nic Mac Building last Wednesday.

The victim was taken to the General Hospital to be treated for his injuries. On Thursday, a large police presence was seen at the hospital.

Police say the shooting was targeted and occurred outside a business in the 5000 block of 51st Avenue West. The incident prompted an immediate response from the police, according to a release.

Northern Rockies RCMP said a 41-year-old man was arrested following a traffic stop. A second man was arrested the same night. Sources say that one of the men taken into police custody is Bacon.

Later that evening, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 4600 block of 49th Avenue in Fort Nelson by the North District RCMP Emergency Response Team.

Bacon has been charged with aggravated assault in connection with the shooting. John Chasse, 41 years old, has been charged with assault relating to the same circumstances.

In October 2024, CJDC TV broke the news that Bacon, who was once a member of the Red Scorpions and the Bacon Brothers Gang was living in Fort Nelson.

In 2012, the now 41-year-old was sentenced to 14 years in prison after attempting to import 100-kilograms of cocaine.

The Parole Board of Canada noted there were several additional charges for violent offences that were dropped. Those included armed assault, attempted murder, assault causing bodily harm and discharging a firearm with intent.

Bacon has been released from prison several times. His family has been front and centre in BC’s on-going gang war.

His oldest brother Jonathan was shot to death in a brazen daylight shooting in Kelowna in 2011.

Bacon’s other brother Jamie pled guilty to conspiracy in the ‘Surrey Six Massacre’ where 4 gangsters were gunned down in 2007, along with 2 innocent by-standers.

Both suspects have been remanded in custody. Bacon is expected to appear in a Williams Lake courtroom on February 4th, however a publication ban has been put in place.
