FORT ST. JOHN -- The Fort St. John Chamber of Commerce is warning of an email scam targeting its mailing list.
The Chamber says they’ve become aware of fraudulent emails circulating that claim they are selling their contact list.
The emails in question are coming from a sender claiming to be an event coordinator with the name “Lorelai Thompson” with an email address ending in ‘@eleadcampaign.in’.
The body of the email asks whether the receiver is interested in getting the distribution and member list of the Fort St. John Chamber of Commerce, asking to reply for more information and cost.
The Chamber says they would never sell member information.
The scam is one of several phone and email scams that have targeting government agencies and organizations in Fort St. John and Dawson Creek over the last several months.
