The District of Chetwynd will hold a by-election next month to fill a vacant councillor seat.
Bonnie Huhn and Lana Johnson are both registered to be on the ballot, with general voting taking place March 2nd from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Chetwynd District Office on Hospital Road.
"Good luck to those running. I still cherish the days when I had the privilege of serving as a city Councillor in Dawson Creek. It was a huge honour and I am excited for whoever wins this by-election in Chetwynd," said MLA for Peace River South Mike Bernier in a message on Facebook.
The seat was left vacant by Clay Bassendowski, who resigned last November after moving away from Chetwynd.
Advanced voting will take place February 21st and 28th, with polls opening at 8:00 a.m.
To vote by mail, registered voters can send their name and address to Chief Election Officer Deanne Ennis.
