FORT ST. JOHN -- One youth has been arrested and is facing charges after Fort St. John RCMP locate a truck connected to a theft in Alberta.

RCMP received a call for assistance on May 7th 2024, at around 7:30 a.m. from the Grand Prairie RCMP to help locate a stolen pickup truck that was believed to be in the area.

Fort St. John police located the pickup truck in the Walmart parking lot located on 96A Street, where according to RCMP, information was received that four male youths associated with the vehicle had been acting strangely.

Police then arrested the four youth without incident and charged the driver with one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000.

He was later released pending an undertaking with conditions and a future court date.

A second youth was arrested on an outstanding warrant in Nanaimo.

The other youth, from Hythe and Grand Prairie, were held until being released to their guardian.

Details on the pickup truck have not been released.

The youth cannot be named under The Youth Crimincal Justice Act.
