Despite highs above 20°C in the forecast this week, winter is coming up fast. As of this Saturday, your car needs to have winter tires for highway driving.
Weather conditions can change quickly, especially in Northeast BC. The province requires all vehicles to have snow tires on highways from October 1st to March 31st.
It’s recommended that drivers plan ahead, and change their tires as soon as possible.
The public is also reminded to obey all posted speed limits. Driving too fast for road conditions is one of the leading causes of accidents.
