CHETWYND -- A wildfire is burning south of Chetwynd near the Sukunka River Forest Service Road.

According to the BC Wildfire Service, the fire was discovered on Sunday and is burning out of control.

The wildfire has now grown to just over 5 hectares in size. It is located 35 kilometres south of Chetwynd.

So far, just over a half dozen firefighters are battling the blaze using a water tender and other equipment.The Wildfire Service says the fire is suspected to be caused by humans or human activity.

Another fire was discovered on Sunday north of Tomslake. The Gundy Caves fire is listed at 0.2 hectares in size.

The fire was quickly brought under control and is 'being held' according to the BC Wildfire Service.
