DAWSON CREEK -- A wildfire is burning out of control 38 kilometres southwest of Dawson Creek.

According to the BC Wildfire Service, the fire was discovered on just before 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon at the South End of 263 Road.

Currently, the fire is being measured at eight hectares in size.

There is currently no evacuation orders or area restrictions in place, however it is not clear at this point if any structures are being threatened.

Wind gusts nearing 50 kilometres and hour are fanning the flames of the fire that is suspected to be human caused.
