CHETWYND -- A small wildfire broke out Monday approximately 13 kilometres south east of Chetwynd.

The BC Wildfire Service said the fire was discovered just after noon on Monday near the Lone Prairie area.

The fire grew to 0.2 hectares in size. The blaze is now listed as ‘being held,’ meaning it is not likely to spread under the current conditions.

According to the BC Wildfire Service the fire was caused by a dry lightning strike which means it occurred without rain nearby.
