DAWSON CREEK -- Jody Hall and Debra Earle returned home Monday night after being missing for eight days.

Friends and family of Hall and Earle reported them separately as missing to the Dawson Creek RCMP. Police determined that the two were seen together on August 11th at approximately noon.

Police in Alberta and BC were involved in the search. The RCMP used a helicopter to look for the pair but could not locate them.

CJDC spoke with Hall on Tuesday about how the pair found their way back home.

He explained how he was in Pouce River for a day on his side-by-side. The ATV ran out of gas, so they tried getting back through the river. However they ended up getting stuck for two days.

Eventually, the two went on foot where, he says, they had little food and water and were followed by a bear.

He says after a 75km walk, a driver recognized the two from media reports on their disappearance. After six days on foot, they were able to get a ride.

“All I cared about was not getting hurt because we never would of made it, we froze we starved and dehydrated but we lived [sic],“ says Hall.

Police say neither suffered any injuries.
