FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. --  While Fort Nelson missed most of the rain, fast flowing water has affected Alaska Highway commuters north of the community.

The Liard River remains under a flood watch due late snow melt and increased rainfall.

A culvert washout on the Alaska Highway has created single lane alternating traffic near Muncho Lake. Motorist should expect delays between kilometre markers 709 and 712.

Locals said traffic was stalled entirely Muncho Lake early Thursday morning. But road crews have reopened one lane with the highway repairs expected in the coming days.
