FORT ST. JOHN -- A man with a long and violent criminal history has surrendered to the Fort St. John RCMP.

In July, a warrant was issued for Jesse Stevens of Fort St. John, who was wanted for Aggravated Assault.

In the past, the 33 year old was been found guilty of assault, assault with a weapon, assaulting a peace officer, possession of stolen property and controlled substances.

Fort St. John RCMP say the Serious Crimes Unit was able to make contact with Stevens this week. Stevens agreed to turn himself in.

After going before a judge, Stevens was immediately released from custody on a release order.

His next scheduled court appearance is November 22nd.
