DAWSON CREEK -- The province is considering the future of the Taylor Bridge and they're asking for feedback on how the bridge is being used and by whom.

Residents are being invited to learn more at a virtual open house on October 13th.

Over the years, maintenance and repair costs have steadily increased for the bridge, now requiring more than a 100 maintenance days and estimated $1 million, a year.

Bridge closures can last up to 45 minutes, often causing significant delays.

The crossing is a vital link for moving resources and people in the Peace Region, having approximately 7,500 vehicles pass over it, daily.

People are also invited to fill out a survey on the B.C. government website or send in a written submission explaining the challenges with the bridge and need for a long-term solution.

Another virtual house is scheduled for October 21st.
