DAWSON CREEK -- The investigation of a murder in the 600 block of 106th Avenue in Dawson Creek continues.
Dawson Creek RCMP responded to a suspicious death on Thursday. Officers found a 37 year old Indigenous male deceased inside the residence.
The North District Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation.The victim has been identified as Byron Eric Horne. A family member said, “video surveillance shows Byron was shot outside of the home.” CJDCT TV has no way to independantly verify that claims as the North District Major Crime Unit did not respond to our request for information.
Police have been at the residence since Thursday. An investigation trailer has been set up at the scene
A BC RCMP spokesperson said there in no threat to public safety. If anyone has any information or observed suspicious activity near the location, they are being asked to call police.
