FORT ST. JOHN -- Power has been restored to pver 1,700 customers in Fort St. John and those southeast of the city after  an equipment failure.

According to B.C. Hydro, the power outage affected customers west of 86th Street, southeast of Alaska Highway and north of Highway 29.

It was cut around 9:36 a.m. and was restored Monday afternoon.
