FORT ST. JOHN -- Environment Canada"s Snowfall Warning for the Pine Pass has ended.

The agency says up to 10 cm on snow was expected on Highway 97 from Bear Lake to Link Creek, Carp Lake Provincial Park, McLeod Lake, Mackenzie, Fort St. James, and areas north of Prince George including Bear Lake.

A storm system crossing the BC Interior brought snow to the region beginning late Thursday afternoon. Snow continued through the night and eased early Friday morning.

Environment Canada says rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult in some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.

Motorists are being reminded to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions, adjust to winter driving behaviour and use winter tires and chains.
