Owner Jeanette Johnston of Aniela’s Kitchen announced her business would be ending its involvement with the Meals on Wheels program in Fort St. John.

She said her last meal for the program will be served on September 29th.

Johnston said the decision is due to the high cost of making the food.

The cost of preparing a meal is $3 while they only receive $8 from the customer.

Currently, there’s no one in place to take over from Johnston.

Aniela’s Kitchen took over Meals on Wheels on July 31st after the Northern Environmental Action Team’s contract ended.
