POUCE COUPE, BC -- Two men are facing multiple charges after a break and enter in Pouce Coupe.

Dawson Creek police were called to the scene of the break and enter in progress in the early Tuesday morning. They located a white Ford F-350 pickup truck fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed. It drove through a ditch and rammed through two fences, before two suspects got out and fled on foot.

Police located one of the suspects hiding in bushes nearby, and arrested him. Officers then searched the area with Police Dog Services and found a second suspect who surrendered to police.

36-year-old Adrian Meck and 29-year-old Cody Gladue are both facing multiple charges, including break and enter, possession of stolen property, and flight from police.

Police say Adrian Meck has accumulated 18 charges spanning five different police files since August. Among those charges are possession of a controlled substance, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, break and enter, possession of stolen property, and three counts of breach of release order.

Both men are in custody after being denied bail in a virtual hearing on Wednesday. Both are scheduled to appear in court on November 30th.

Dawson Creek police say getting a few select people off the street makes a huge impact, especially when it comes to repeat offenders.
