DAWSON CREEK -- A large truck Monday afternoon closed the Alaska Highway near Taylor in both directions.
A semi was travelling north bound on the North Taylor Hill section of Highway 97 around 3:00pm when it caught on fire.
Both lanes of the highway were closed for just over an hour with vehicles backed for at least 3 kilometres. Highway 97 has since re-opened in both directions.
Smoke billowing from the truck could be seen for miles. There were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
