FORT ST. JOHN -- The leader of the BC Conservative party is stepping aside. Trevor Bolin made the announcement in a social post on Friday.
"After the death of both of my parents six months ago, I want to spend more time with my family,” said Bolin.
Bolin is a Fort St. John city councillor as well as a successful business man. He has been the leader of the BC Conservatives for almost 4 years.
With a provincial election looming next year, Bolin said the move will give him time to focus on the Peace River North riding which he plans to run in. “It will also give me more time to focus on my community,” added Bolin.
The BC Conservative Party is expected to announce plans for a leadership race in the near future. Bolin will remain as the party’s interim leader until a new leader is chosen.
