DAWSON CREEK -- The Cops for Cancer Tour de North is holding a community fundraiser and BBQ today in Dawson Creek until 7 p.m. It comes the day before the tour kicks off. Tomorrow they will hold an opening ceremony and head shave at 500 Hwy 2, Dawson Creek.

The weeklong fundraiser sees law enforcement and emergency services personnel cycle across the region to raise money for child cancer research and a national support system for families affected by childhood cancer. 

Tomorrow the cyclists will head from Dawson Creek to Fort St. John. Saturday they will head to Chetwynd. The tour will end in Williams Lake on September 26th.

So far over $85-thousand has been raised through the initiative.
