FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. -- The Peace River Regional District approves the 9-1-1 service agreement with local First Nations.

The new agreement would offer 9-1-1, solid waste removal and fire protection services for Blueberry River, West Moberly, Saulteau, Doig River and Halfway River First Nations.

The public safety agreement has been in place for 20 years and was renewed at the regional board meeting.

It's a one year deal that sees the district maintaining rates set back in 2018

The new agreement will take effect on January 1st, 2022.
