FORT NELSON -- An investigation is currently underway following a suspected arson at a tow yard in Fort Nelson.

The incident, which was caught on camera, occurred shortly before 4:00 a.m. on September 12, 2024. Surveillance footage captured from inside the business show two unidentified individuals shattering the front glass of On It Towing, located on 44th Avenue.

The masked suspects then entered the garage, with one using a metal tool to break the windows of two tow trucks -- one hook and chain, the other a flatbed. The video further reveals the second suspect pouring an unidentified fluid into the trucks before setting it ablaze.

No injuries were reported. However, photos posted on social media depict extensive damage to both the truck and the outbuilding.

According to the Northern Rockies RCMP, the case over to the North District GIS Unit who are currently investigating. Earlier this year, other equipment fires were reported at the same business, which are believed to be connected to this latest arson.
