TAYLOR -- RCMP responded to a disturbance in Taylor involving a dark SUV, the morning of June 2nd.

By the time police arrived, the vehicle was no longer in the area.

Investigators later found the ATV and discovered it had been stolen.

Fort St. John RCMP executed a search warrant and entered the man’s residence.

Constable Chad Neustaeter said, “upon entering the residence, two firearms were located, neither registered to the property owner and one was determined to have been stolen approximately a week earlier.”

Officers managed to locate the suspect and arrest him.

Archie Whitford is facing charges of driving while prohibited, flight from police, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, uttering threats and possessing a firearm without a license.

Whitford is being held in police custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 21.
