DAWSON CREEK -- A snowfall warning is in effect for the Highway 97 Pine Pass. About 10-15 cm of snow is expected from Wednesday until Friday afternoon.

Periods of light snow on Wednesday are expected to transition into more consistent snowfall overnight. Snowfall may be heavier at times throughout Thursday, but the system will move out of the region by Friday afternoon.

Visibility on the roads may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.

Snowfall is also expected for the rest of the week across the Peace Region.
