An air quality advisory has been issued for the North Peace Region.

The area extending from Farmington to Pink Mountain is likely to be impacted by wildfire smoke over the next 24 to 48 hours. That includes Fort St. John, Moberly Lake, Hudson’s Hope, Rolla, Clayhurst, and Goodlow.

Fort Nelson remains under an air quality advisory that was issued Thursday. The areas around Muskwa, Prophet River, Buckinghorse River, Sikanni Chief, and Highway 77 are also likely to see smoky skies.

Environment Canada reminds everyone living in those areas that exposure to smoke can affect your health, especially people with pre-existing health conditions, respiratory infections (including COVID-19), children, infants, and pregnant women.
