FORT ST. JOHN -- Large plumes of smoke were seen coming from a fire in Taylor, just south of Fort St. John.

The incident happened Thursday around 3:30p.m, near the Baldonnel Railway Overpass on Alaska highway. The fire was put out about an hour later.

The Taylor Fire Department responded to the call. The Fort St. John Fire Department was asked to support shortly after.

Witnesses say it appeared to be a bushfire behind a local residence. More than ten fire vehicles were seen at the home.

We reached out to the Taylor Fire Department. They did not return our call.
