FORT ST. JOHN -- After two months of relative calm in Fort St. John, the sound of shots fired rang out early Saturday morning.

Fort St. John Mounties said it happened around 3:00am in the 9200 hundred block of 91st Street near Matthew’s Park.

Neighbours described hearing a number of shots being fired. Right after, a vehicle was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed. However, due to darkness, witnesses could not provide a description of the vehicle.

Police say there is damage to the front of the house consistent with bullet holes.

On Saturday, police were going door-to-door asking residents for door bell camera footage.

Police say at this point they do not have any suspects. Their investigation is continuing.
