CHETWYND, BC -- Northern Health is again warning of potential diversions at the Chetwynd Hospital.

The health authority says emergency department hours at the Chetwynd Hospital and Health Centre may temporarily change in the coming days.

If you need urgent medical care during a service interruption, you should still call 911. You will be transported to the nearest available and appropriate facility. If the hospital is on diversion, partner health services will be notified and signage will be placed at the facility informing patients to call 911 for transport.

Patients who aren’t sure whether their condition would warrant an emergency room visit, or who need health advice, can call HealthLink BC (8-1-1), or visit www.HealthLinkBC.ca for non-emergency health information.

Patients can also call the NH Virtual Clinic at 1-844-645-7811 (daily from 10am to 10pm) to access a family doctor or nurse practitioner.

This notice comes just one month after Northern Health last warned of potential diversions at the Chetwynd Hospital in late December.
