DAWSON CREEK -- A serious accident just east of the traffic circle in Dawson Creek sent one man to hospital.

Dawson Creek RCMP say the two-vehicle accident happened just before 2pm on Tuesday afternoon.

Police, fire and ambulance all responded to the scene on Highway 49 near Collins Road. The male driver of a black mini van had to be removed from his vehicle through the passenger side door.

The man was rushed to hospital. There is no word on the extent of his injuries, however Mounties say they are not believed to be life threatening.

Police say the accident happened because one of the two drivers wasn’t paying attention. Dawson Creek RCMP say no charges are expected to be laid.
