DAWSON CREEK -- The Dawson Creek Ribfest event will be happening this weekend at the curling rink grounds in the downtown area.

Food trucks will be serving ribs, chicken, pulled pork, sausages, mac & cheese and cornbread. Donuts, pop and freezies will be available as well.

In addition to the food, 4 local bands will be playing.

Dad-Beats, Piled Up and Vice Jesters will be on stage for the Friday and Saturday shows.

Face painting from the Dawson Creek Art Gallery will be held on Saturday evening with a dunk tank available all weekend.

The Nawican Bergeron Youth & Cultural Centre will also run a 50/50 draw with all proceeds going to youth services.

Event organizer Tim Shields said this will be Dawson Creek’s first Ribfest event.

The Friday and Saturday events will be held from 11am to 10pm with Sunday’s show being held from 11am – 7pm.

Admissions will be by donation.
