FORT ST. JOHN -- The Fort St. John Royal Canadian Legion and the City of Fort St. John commemorated Remembrance Day early.
They hosted a flag-raising ceremony of the Poppy Flag at city hall Wednesday at 11 a.m. Mayor Lilia Hansen and members of the city council were also in attendance.
The Fort St. John Royal Canadian Legion will also be hosting an event on Remembrance Day. The day will start with a parade at 10 a.m. followed by an inside ceremony an hour later. Lunch will be served at noon. Residents are encouraged to participate in the community games afterward. A turkey dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Tickets for the dinner will be on sale at the Legion on the day. It costs $25.
In Dawson Creek, there will be a ceremony and flag-raising at the Unchagah Hall. While the event starts at 10:45 a.m., residents are encouraged to be in their seats by 10:30 a.m.
