FORT ST. JOHN -- BC Wildfire Service said the Red Creek and Cameron River wildfires are likely to be held in the next few days.

The Red Creek fire is 2,947 hectares in size with the Cameron River wildfire at 385.

This is due to efforts of fire crews on the scene and the cooler weather conditions of the past 3 days. Heavy smoke was also a factor as it helped shield the fires from the heat of the Sun.

The Boundary Lake wildfire near the BC and Alberta border is still being held.
