TUMBLER RIDGE -- Police has called off the active search for two people wanted in connection with ramming an RCMP vehicle south of Tumbler Ridge.

While police are still actively looking for the two suspects, they have called off the hunt in the forest that lines a service road near Tumbler Ridge.

The man, a well know individual to the police, and a woman, escaped from officers after ramming a police vehicle on Tuesday.

A third suspect was found walking along Highway 52 and arrested without incident.

Currently, it is not certain if the arrested man has appeared before a judge.

According to RCMP, the stolen vehicle was located along with wire and other materials near Dawson Creek. The suspects then fled ending up on Forest Service Road where their vehicle was boxed by police.

The suspects then rammed a police cruiser, rendering their own vehicle inoperable. They then escaped on foot.

Calls from CJDC-TV asking Tumbler Ridge RCMP if the identities of the two suspects at large would be made public were not returned.

Anyone with any information on this case is asked to call the Tumbler Ridge RCMP at (250) 242-5252, or Crime Stoppers, at 1(800) 222-8477
