DAWSON CREEK -- The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) has announced its Fall Clean-up program, which waives tipping fees at local landfills and waste transfer stations.
The program goes on from October 4 to the 18 for those disposing of self-hauled yard and sorted waste.
Accepted residential waste includes: household waste, wood waste, tires (off-rim), scrap metal, concrete, construction and demolition waste, appliances, and stripped and unstripped vehicle hulks.
The PRRD asks residents to check which materials and consider taking materials to the landfills for recycling, instead of tossing materials into bulk waste bins for burial.
The free program applies to PRRD residents only, excluding commercial waste haulers.
