DAWSON CREEK -- The Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions announced 17 new recovery beds across Northeast BC with 6 in Dawson Creek.
They said the new beds will be added to the Meltans Bridge Living Facility and will allow access to treatment services for people in recovery.
2 more will be added to Fort St. John under the care of the Governing Council of the Salvation Army.
Mayor Darcy Dober said any help to vulnerable people in the area is crucial.
The Ministry said 15 of the 17 beds have already been put in place.
Other cities included are Quesnel, Terrace, Prince Rupert and Kitimat.
