FORT ST. JOHN -- BC Hydro says power has been has been restored after it was knocked out to nearly 1,300 residents in Northeast B.C.

A map from the company showed power is out in a large area north of Fort St. John, that includes Cecil Lake, Rose Prairie and Doig River.. 

Hydro says the outage was caused by a tree that fell on power wires shortly after 1pm on Friday.

Power was restored late Friday afternoon.
