POUCE COUPE, B.C. -- The Mayor of Pouce Coupe has been removed from all of her portfolios.

Two new council members were sworn into the village council this week.

One of the first items voted on was stripping Lorraine Michetti of all her positions.

Councillors will take over Michetti’s responsibilities on a number of boards and commissions she sat on.

Earlier in the year, Michetti was asked to resign after she made comments that critics deemed to be racist and insensitive.

However, she refused to resign.

Just last week, she was again asked to resign after insulting healthcare workers by saying the media is lying about intensive care units being overrun by COVID-19 patients.
