FORT ST. JOHN -- Fort St. John's hospital may experience interruptions in service over Easter weekend.

Northern Health say possible interruptions for the hospital will take place from Friday to Tuesday morning. They say this may impact expecting mothers that are in of need procedures like C-sections.

These interruptions, similar to the ones faced by Dawson Creek last weekend, are because of a gap in coverage of anesthesiologists.

Eryn Collins, media spokesperson for Northern Health, says physicians will be still be available to take of care other patients but the concerns lie with unexpected emergency procedures.

Northern Health is saying mother’s that are due for delivery should still go to the Fort St. John hospital.

Collins says if anyone is in need of emergency care they should also still contact 911.
