DAWSON CREEK -- Dawson Creek RCMP have made a pair of arrests in connection to a burglary at an oil and gas site over the weekend.
Police received a call Sunday March 3rd at around 10:00 a.m. for reports of a break and enter at a rural site in the area of One Island Lake.
When officers arrived, they say the suspects fled on foot into the surrounding woods where footprints from accumulated snow fall led them to a shed where they found the first suspect hiding.
RCMP then called in Police Dog Services to track down the second suspect, where a successful dog track by Hamer, led them to the second suspect who was then apprehended.
Investigators allege that the pair caused thousands of dollars of infrastructure damage to the well site, and were driving a stolen vehicle.
James Shearer, 36, and Wayne Conley, 45, have both been charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property, mischief over $5000, breach of a probation order, and resisting.
The two men also had outstanding warrants for their arrest in Alberta for similar crimes.
