FORT ST. JOHN -- The Peace River Regional District has officially accepted the resignation of Jordan Kealy.
The MLA for Peace River North resigned from his role as Director of Area 'B' on November 6th, with the board accepting his resignation during a meeting late last week. In accordance with the Local Government Act, Kealy cannot hold the position while serving as an MLA.
Mayor of Pouce Coupe, Danielle Veach, congratulated Kealy on his new role and welcomed his replacement.
“We’re very sad to see that Mr. Kealy will not be here with us anymore, but just congratulations to him and I look forward to working alternate director Graham until the by election happens,” said Veach during the November 21st meeting.
Graham Reid will fill the role of Alternate Director until a by-election is held in February of 2025.
Kealy was first elected to the board as a Director in 2022.
