FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. -- Local Search and Rescue groups will be given a total of $50,000 in grant funding.

At the July 22nd Board meeting, Peace River Regional District directors voted in favour of the funding being used for capital and operational costs.

These are annual funds that are given out based on need through the districts Search and Rescue Grant Policy.

North Peace Search and Rescue Society will receive $25,273.

South Peace Emergency Response Team will receive $9,978.14

Tumbler Ridge Search and Rescue Society will receive $14,748.86

The funds will go towards vehicle insurance, training and equipment.
