TAYLOR -- A portion of Highway 97 has reopened after a multi-vehicle collision in Taylor this morning.

The incident occurred shortly before 8:00 a.m. near Pine Avenue, shutting down the area leading to 103 Avenue. Emergency crews, including fire and ambulance, responded to the scene.

Chief Byford of Taylor Fire and Rescue confirmed to CJDC-TV that the department responded to a collision involving three vehicles: two passenger vehicles and a commercial vehicle.

One individual was taken to the hospital, while two others were released. Taylor Fire Rescue assisted with traffic control and attended to the patient until BC Ambulance arrived.

DriveBC released several updates on the closure, confirming the road was reopened by 11:40 a.m.

Vehicle traffic was detoured around Frontage Road during the closure.

CJDC-TV also reached out to the Fort St. John RCMP for details about the accident but did not receive a response in time for publication.
