FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. -- According to B.C.'s Health Minister, the number of surgeries in Northern B.C. is increasing.

Adrian Dix says a number of procedures have either been cancelled or delayed because of COVID-19.

A lack of staff across the north is also contributing to the problem of postponed surgeries.

Prince George and Dawson Creek Regional Hospitals have seen the biggest increase in surgeries.

Dix says 123 critical care patients have been transferred out of Northern Health to other parts of the province.
