TUMBLER RIDGE, BC -- Northern Health is warning of potential diversions at the Tumbler Ridge Diagnostic and Treatment Centre.

The Emergency Department at the clinic could experience intermittent service disruptions due to limited nursing staff. The health authority says temporary diversions are possible if nursing coverage cant’ be maintained. A diversion could happen on short notice.

If that happens, patients needing emergency care will be transported to the closest available facility. Anyone experiencing an emergency should still call 9-1-1.

Patients who aren’t sure whether their condition would warrant an emergency room visit, or who need health advice can call HealthLink BC (8-1-1), or visit www.HealthLinkBC.ca for non-emergency health information.

Alternatively, patients can also call the NH Virtual Clinic at 1-844-645-7811 (daily from 10am to 10pm) to access a family doctor or nurse practitioner.
