FORT ST. JOHN -- North District Major Crime Unit are investigating a death they deem to be suspicious.

According to RCMP, they were called to a motor vehicle incident at Thompson Road near Highway 29 in the Charlie Lake area. The incident happened on Wednesday at 6:09 pm.

They say police located a deceased man when they got to the scene. They determined the circumstances surrounding the death to be suspicious. A police investigation into the cause of death is currently underway.

Police are seeking information or witnesses to any suspicious circumstances observed in the area of Highway 29 from Bear Flats through to Highway 97 on Wednesday, December 6 between 4 pm to midnight. Police are also seeking any video surveillance or dashcam footage if available.
