The City of Dawson Creek is reminding voters about the new rules involving the upcoming municipal elections.

Residents are now eligible to vote in the city or electoral area they live in, regardless of how long they have lived there. This applies to all municipal elections, which are coming up on October 15th.

In the previous election, voters were required to have lived in the place they were voting for 30 days in order to be eligible.

You must still have lived in British Columbia for at least 6 months before registering to vote.

To register to vote on Election Day, you will need two pieces of identification proving where you live. One of these must include a signature.
