A Wonowon man is facing criminal charges for a collision that killed an Alberta man and injured another in June 2024.
On June 12, 2024, just after 6:00 a.m., BC Highway Patrol was called to a collision on the Alaska Highway near Sikanni Chief Bridge.
A Ford F350 pickup had collided with a Chevrolet Silverado pickup, leading to minor injuries for a 24-year-old Alberta man who was a passenger in the Silverado, and the death of the 32-year-old Alberta man who was driving.
“These are very difficult times for the family and friends of the victim,” says Corporal Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol. “It’s important in these tragic cases that we take the time to do a thorough investigation so that Crown Counsel can consider all the evidence.”
22 year old Bryan Gass of Wonowon is facing charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, Impaired operation causing death and failing to provide a sample where death occurs.
Gass is scheduled to appear in court in Fort St John on March 30, 2026.
